Animal licenses can be bought at the Town Office (202 3rd Ave West) Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

All animal licenses expire December 31st of the year issued. Licenses must be renewed prior to the expiration of the current year, and will be available at the Town Office in late fall.
All cats and dogs that are four months of age or older, require an animal license (see Section 15 Exemptions in Bylaw No. 25-877).

Stray animals can be taken to the Biggar Vet Clinic. The Town of Biggar will not pick up any stray animals.

Biggar is a pet-friendly community. Our off-leash dog area, Central Bark, is located at the north end of Ontario Street. In all other areas of the Town of Biggar, dogs must be leashed at all times. Pet owners are reminded to please bring their own pet bags whenever they are out and about with their furry friends, so they are able to clean up after them.

The Town of Biggar does not rent traps out.
Trapping dogs or cats at large is not permitted in the Town and is considered an offence. Please contact a professional animal control service to assist you.
